Canberra Bicycle Museum - See Australia's largest collection of over 60 old, rare and unusual bicycles. Families can have their picture taken on one of the penny farthings. A great place for children to see how bicycles have changed through the years.

Canberra Observatory - Take a guided tour of the domes, equipment and telescopes and learn about the mysteries of the heavens. Three hour-long nightly tours are available from Monday to Saturdays.

Canberra Space Centre - The Canberra Space Centre contains a collection of space memorabilia, models, theatres and interactive exhibits covering the last 40 years of space flight and exploration. Children can weigh themselves on the Moon and see Mars in 3D.

Careys Cave, Wee Jasper - There are 7 main chambers to these caves discovered in 1875. Don't miss the signature cave, which contains the graffiti of pioneers from the early days. At Wee Jasper itself families can fish in some of the best streams in Australia and there's lots of good camping sites.

Cockington Green, Canberra - This fascinating miniature village shows families what a typical English village looks like. You'll see an intercity high speed train, Breamar castle, soccer and cricket matches, the typical village church and Stonehenge. A miniature steam train ride circles the lake and playground.

National Dinosaur Museum - Features nine full-sized replica skeletons. Major dinosaur specimens include camarasaurus, struthiomimus, megalosaurus, chasmosaurus and tyrannosaurus.

Parliament House, Canberra - A visit to Parliament House is a must for the whole family. Parliament House is the place where Australian law begins, where our elected leaders take part in debate and and where the drama of democratic government is played out. Free guided tours leave every half hour, or you can wander the public spaces at your leisure, enjoying the art collection and magnificent architecture. When Parliament is in session you can observe from the public galleries.

Questacon National Science and Technology Centre - The centre is full of "hands on" exhibits that reveal the secrets of many scientific principles. Turn the whole family's learning into a fun experience.

Rainbow Valley Trout and Game Farm, Braidwood - Catch your own rainbow trout, see majestic red deer or watch the curious emus.
If you're lucky enough to catch fish why not barbecue them straight away, or take some smoked trout or pate home.

Royal Australian Mint - As well as watching our currency being made, visitors can mint their own special coin or token to keep.
