South Coast
Features the areas of Batemans Bay, Bega, Bermagui, Berry, Bodalla, Central Tilba, Eden, Jervis Bay, Kangaroo Valley, Merimbula, Milton, Mollymook, Moruya, Narooma, Nowra, Thathra, Ulladulla.

Stretching from Berry to Eden, the South Coast contains no less than 10 separate national and marine parks.
Create your own family fun - whether you want secluded beaches or majestic bushland. There's everything from guided mountain bike adventures to four-wheel drive tours.

Beecroft Head Lookout and Lighthouse, Currorong. Drive through natural scrub and beautiful wildflowers to Point Perpendicular Lighthouse for a sensational view. The light station has now been replaced by a new lighthouse, but the historic building remains. Please check with the Shoalhaven Visitors Centre to ensure the road is in driveable order.

Camel Rock, Bermagui.This incredibly life-like rock at the end of a magnificent surf beach has the appearance of a sleeping camel. Kids will love the coloured stones and rock pools at the base of Camel Rock. Just 50 metres further on is a natural rock arch known as Horse Head. There is also excellent beach fishing in this area.

Central Tilba. The National Trust village of Central Tilba is a real walk back in time. The whole family will be fascinated by the beautifully preserved shops, particularly the ABC Cheese Factory which incorporates a prize-winning cheese, honey and preserves factory with tastings daily.

Berry Country Fair Markets, at the Showground.Enjoy the family atmosphere of this popular fair/market reputed to be the best on the south coast. You'll see a large selection of craft, fashion garments and produce on the first Sunday of the month, or second Sunday in February.

Birdland, Batemans Bay.The whole family will love this peaceful attraction set on 8 acres with ponds and waterfalls. Prime attraction is the snake handling demonstration but there's also wombat world, the animal nursery, train rides and countless species of birds. Snake & wombat displays are at 11.30am & 2.30pm daily, while koala feeding happens at 10.30am.

Bomaderry Creek Walking Track. The track follows the creek with impressive sandstone cliffs, rock walls, overhangs and caves along the way. One-hour and three-hour walks are available with parking, picnic and barbecue facilities available.

Davidson Whaling Station, Ben Boyd National Park, Eden.
Three generations of the Davidson family worked from this site from 1826 to 1932 to hunt migrating whales. They were the only whalers in the world known to work in partnership with killer whales (orcas). Interpretative signs and historic photographs and sketches will give you an insight into this unique operation.

Eden Killer Whale Museum, Eden. See the skeleton of Tom the killer whale whose pack played a vital role in the Twofold Bay whaling industry. The Museum commemorates whaling, fishing and timber, providing a glimpse of Eden's fascinating history. There is a 20-minute video on whaling, timber and fishing industries, both past and present. The display is of great interest, especially to children.

Deua National Park, Moruya. This is a unique park, most suited to experienced canoeists, cavists and bushwalkers. See the magnificent 96m deep Big Hole and the Marble Arch. Camp at Deua River or stay nearby at Braidwood, Moruya or Queanbeyan.

Hampden Suspension Bridge, Kangaroo Valley. This historic sandstone castle-like bridge on the main road from Kangaroo Valley to Moss Vale, was opened in May 1898. The river under the bridge is popular for swimming and canoeing. Canoes can be hired near the bridge.

Woodturning Gallery, Eden. The Woodturning Gallery consists of a variety of local arts and crafts with the major emphasis on the art of Woodturning. Also features patchwork and folk art.
